You just finished washing your car. It looks beautiful, fresh and shiny, but is it actually clean? No matter how meticulous you are, several substances your car is exposed to on a regular basis cannot be washed off with just soap and water. Miniscule pieces of metal, automotive dust and environmental pollutants are just a few of the materials that can only be removed by using a clay bar.

The clay has a grippy texture that is able to pick up contaminants as it is passed over the car's surface in a gentle rubbing motion. Using a generous amount of clay lubricant and working on one small section at a time are the best ways to make sure your whole car gets a thorough treatment. Since particles caught in the clay from previously-cleaned sections could scratch your paint, be sure to expose a new piece of clay by kneading and flattening the ball for each new section.
